"Sim" Bio:
Being Dutch,I grew up in Zandvoort,Netherlands.Since I grew up less then 100m next to "tunnel oost" at the Zandvoort track,it actually was like a playing ground for me.I automatically became interested in racing
and always want(ed) to race and do something with racing. With the introduction of some of the better racing games, starting with the old GP series and Indy500,I started to notice
you can also do some pretty cool racing on the computer. And as a consequence, started to play them more and more.
When GPL was introduced I just had to have it.Also due to the fact that Zandvoort hosted a GP in the days those cars were racing, and was actually in the game.
I bought myself a wheel together with the game and started driving Zandvoort like crazy. After that it wasn't long untill I also found out about online-racing.A new chapter started :P .
Being very competitive from nature,I now had the chance to compare my abilitys in driving with people from around the world.Which motivated me more and more to practice and become faster.
Especially after seeing some of the laptimes those guys were doing :) .
After doing some online racing I found out there were actually championships on the net.I started driving the Dutch league FGPLL and also started racing GPLWS which was an international championship.
After just a couple of races I was sold and was there to stay.Unfortunatly GPLWS didn't continue after that season, but FGPLL joined with the only other Dutch GPL league to make the Dutch Simracing Zone.
I started driving GPL there and actually became it's first champion after a very though season in the Dutch GPL Division 1.Something I would do again a couple of times in the future ;) .After a while
I also started driving MoG F1 in the BRM for Michiel Pompert, whom had been one of my teammates in DSZ.Knowing I wouldn't be able to win in a BRM with the hot competition there,I learned a lot about driving your
own race and pushing for every second just to get some decent points. After finishing all but 1 of the full-length races due to someone turning onto the track,I managed a very very nice 4th place in the
championship and was in the race for it up untill the last race.
After driving GPL a while I also started to race Papy's other great sim "NASCAR".
I started with NASCAR 4 with just 3 races to go in the Dutch NASCAR championship to try it out.Allthough I had pole in my first ever NASCAR race :P the results weren't very good. But I definetly liked the game.
The next season driven with the NASCAR2002 game was mine, together with the one after it driven with NASCAR2003.During the 2002 season I also started driving PROS and joined the last 8 races of the championship.
PROS was a league where you actually paid money to race and could earn winnings which made it even more real.I managed to earn back my entry-fees with a couple of decent races and was blown away by it's competition due to the money involved.
Allthough the tensions were high sometimes, the racing was very fast, very hard, but most of all clean and a very good learning ground. The next season I managed to finish in the top 6.I actually won the 3rd part of the season and had multiple wins there.
But the fact that I missed 2 races at the end of the year and had a bad start of my year,I was out of the race for the championship. The winner became Kevin King and he won the chance to drive a real racecar at the "Competetive Edge Racing School"
from which he was actually picked and invited to do a race.
Off course I've also been racing some of the mods out there.Like GPL65 and the Trans Am mod for NASCAR 2003 which I both like a lot.I never drove any international leagues with those but did manage to win the Dutch championships with
these mods.
